The treadmill might be the most recognized piece of equipment in the fitness world.
Even those who couldn’t care less about the gym or health and fitness can probably tell you what a treadmill is.
Mention the word “cardio”, and I am confident that the treadmill is one of the first things that come to mind.
It’s something nearly everyone can do and takes very little instruction to use, which makes it great for gym-savvy folks and newbies alike.
That is probably a big reason why most commercial gyms are flooded with them. A brigade of calorie-consuming, cardio-improving machines at your disposal.
Unfortunately, for many people it isn’t practical to have a treadmill in your house or apartment.
They can be expensive and take up a ton of space.
I was facing that same problem until I came across the Yosuda T5 Treadmill.
This machine has a low profile, doesn’t take up a ton of space while stored away or while using, and is affordable, making it a great alternative to a full-size, commercial gym machine.

Size & Dimensions
The Yosuda T5 Treadmill comes out of the box completely assembled. All you have to do is plug it in with the 3-prong plug included and you’re ready to go.
It comes with a remote control which allows you to adjust the speed as well as turn the machine on and off while on it.
It also comes with a small bottle of lubricant for maintenance and upkeep of the running belt.
The running belt has a length of 42.7 inches (108.5 cm) and a width of 17 inches (43.2).
This treadmill weighs in at 58lbs (26.3 kgs) with a weight capacity listed at 265 pounds (120.2 kg), and that is for both running and walking as per information provided by Yosuda.
I am a smaller frame guy weighing in at 160 pounds (72.6 kg) and so far it has supported me in both jogging and walking.
There is a crisp, clear LED display at the top of the treadmill showing you key stats as you train.
The LED display cycles through distance, speed, time, and calories.
The speed settings range from .6 to 4.0.
.6 is the default starting speed when the machine is first started.
Something also worth noting before you purchase this treadmill is that there is no incline or decline option.
Overall though, I have found it to be a compact, sturdy and well built piece of equipment.
My Experience
When I first took the treadmill out of the box I was very happy to see that I had no assembly to do whatsoever. All I had to do was pick a spot and plug it in and turn it on.
The little remote control comes with a battery, just pop it in and you’re good to go.
I found that moving it around the room to be pretty easy.
Most of the weight is at the top of the machine where the display, and where I assume the motor, is.
It is not the easiest to pick up off of the floor but there really is no need to.
There are wheels conveniently placed underneath the machine at the top end of the treadmill which means all I needed to do was lift the bottom half up and roll it to where I pleased before placing it back down.
The bottom half lifts up pretty easily and once on the wheels the whole machine feels light and rolls around smoothly.
When I first stepped onto this treadmill, I was given a sense of strength and support beneath me. There was no creaking, bending or sagging which was great to see.
This feeling of stability and support remains even as I crank up the speed to max (4.00) and jog.
Even at top speed I found this machine to still be fairly quiet.
Increasing and decreasing speed is smooth. The machine responds well to the remote control and the belt changes speed in both directions smoothly without jerking or stuttering.
I also feel that the machine slows down and stops fairly quickly when you turn the power off from the remote, even at 4.0 top speed.
I always wear sneakers as recommended and haven’t gone barefoot.
Here is a video of me working up to a light jog on the treadmill. I tried to showcase the noise level of the machine as well as the smoothness of speed change and how quickly it comes to a stop when powering off from top speed.
Personal Thoughts & Opinions
I am going to lay out some of my own considerations and thoughts that crossed my mind while using this treadmill.
Hopefully they can help you decide if this machine is the right fit for you.
One of the most obvious points to take into consideration is the lack of a handrail.
This is necessary to keep this machine compact and small-space friendly, but some people may feel a bit uneasy out in space with nothing to hold onto if need be. Especially if speed walking or jogging.
I personally haven’t found any problem walking or jogging. As I said earlier the machine responds well to speed changes and slows down pretty quickly to a complete stop when powered off with the remote even at 4.0 top speed.
Fortunately, there are walking pad/treadmill handrails available that are sold separately from different manufacturers for those of you who feel better with something to hold onto.
Speaking of the remote, it would be nice if they were to add a wrist strap to it just in case it happens to slip out of your hand while using the treadmill.
Another point I think is worth mentioning is the use case and training benefits of this particular treadmill.
For me, even at top speed I can only get a moderate jog going. I am still able to get my heart rate up, but nowhere near max.
This tells me that if you are someone who is trying to sprint, work at near max heart rate for any given period of time or are an experienced runner looking to improve top speed, this may not help you in that regard.
However for a large majority of the population who I imagine just want to get fitter, healthier and get more activity in a convenient way then I think this would be a great option.
I like that I don’t have to leave my house to go for a walk if I don’t feel like it.
If you don’t want to travel to a gym to get in some steps you don’t have to.
If the weather is poor you can go for a walk in the comfort of your own
home.
Place the treadmill in front of the TV and watch your favorite show, or in front of a window with a view. As long as you have an outlet nearby you’re good to go.
It is in fact called an under desk treadmill, however I haven’t used it under a desk or table and I doubt I will.
Storing this machine completely out of the way is very easy. I simply roll it over to a corner when finished and stand it against the wall, taking up barely any space at all.
Closing Thoughts
Overall I am very happy to have gotten the Yosuda T5 Treadmill.
This is yet another tool in my training tool box which adds versatility and convenience to my options.
If you are someone who’s goal is to get in more activity into your lifestyle without having to leave your home, all while not taking up a ton of space or breaking the bank then I believe that this treadmill will check those boxes for you.
Here’s to your health, fitness and goals and I thank you for taking the time to read.
